I’m a freelance Cinematographer & Photographer based in Los Angeles. September 2017, just a few months after turning 27, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, which is Cancer that starts in the Lymphatic System. I did 6 months of Chemotherapy, a total of 12 ABVD Chemo Treatments. Then on July 3rd 2018, just a few weeks before turning 28, my PET Scan came out clear and now I’m in remission. June 16th 2020 I had my 2 year follow up + checkups and everything is clear.
The purpose of this blog was to keep family & friends up-to-date and hopefully serve as encouragement to anyone going through a similar situation.
The name “Beets by Fio” originated from the holistic diet I was trying, pre Chemo, which was packed with daily juicing of beets, and the twist on the name “Beats by Dr. Dre”
